Tax Preparation Process – Step by Step
Step 1: Are you a new client? Contact us! Please send us a detailed message with your contact information and questions. We promise we get back to you within the following 24 hours of being contacted (business hours). Click HERE to contact us. If you are a current client, please skip this step.
Step 2: First contact: One of our team members will contact you regarding your inquiries. The purpose of the call or email is to understand your needs and explain how we can better serve you based on our expertise.
To give you an accurate price range we may need additional information which will be requested in the call or email. It is important to understand that the quotes are based on the information provided and the price may vary depending on the actual work to be done.

Step 3: Make an appointment. Depending on your questions and concerns, we can set up an appointment for you with the most qualified person on our staff, who will gladly assist you with your business or individual concerns. We offer private consultations by phone, Skype or in person. Please call our office at (718) 937-6727 or email us at email@example.com with the time you wish to make an appointment.
We have two types of appointments:
Tax Return Appointments
In person: We encourage you to start making appointments from December each year.
Step 4: Register to our Encrypted Portal. Before any appointment, we require that you upload your tax documentation to our encrypted portal. Because we value your business, we have a secure way to send and receive files. To access this portal, please click on “ ” at the right top side of our website www.pburgoscpa.com. Please see below for more information on each portal option.
You will see a pop-up window with the following option:
Secure File Pro: Once you become a client, we are able to add more layers of security and can create a log in to our Secure File Pro portal. Please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call us (718) 9376727 to request access. You can click HERE to watch our “how to” video. You can also access the link by clicking on “Client Log in” at the right top side of our website
Step 5: Time to organize your tax documents and send them to us! If you require one, please click HERE to download your Tax Organizer. It will help you gather all your documents. Once you are sure you have all the documents needed for your tax appointment.
Once you complete your tax organizer document, please send it to us along with your tax documents. By sending us your documents before the appointment you are helping us reduce the waiting time at the time of the appointment.
Step 6: Its time for your Tax Appointment!: Remember to send us all the documents before your appointment. We encourage you to use public transportation. The office is located in at third floor with no elevator. Find below our process and policies:
Please plan approximately 1.5 hours to 2 hours for the visit (not including commuting)
You will be greeted when you enter our office. Please specify your appointment time and hand in all additional documents that you may have regarding your taxes. All documentation must be scanned.
Step 7: One of our team members will be working on your return: You may meet with more than one accountant to discuss your tax situation. This means that your return will be checked two or three times before submission.
Step 8: We will contact you regarding additional information needed. Your tax return may or may not be completed the same day. Sometimes your tax situation is not as simple as you believe or simply we need more information. Don’t worry! We are here to make sure that you comply with the government and get the benefits that you qualify for. If your return is not completed the same day, we will reach out to finalize it. Please allow at least two weeks.
Step 9: Quality Control. A CPA will always review your tax return before we file it. Your return may be worked on by more than one accountant. Before filing, your return will always be reviewed by our Certified Public Accountant.
Step 10: Filing your tax return. When your tax return is complete, you will be contacted for review. At this time, you will be required to sign the necessary forms to authorize electronic filing of your return. You can receive these forms in person, online, or by mail. You will also receive a copy of your return electronically or a hardcopy by mail or pick-up. Please note that payment must be received in full before the electronic filing of your return.
